Brest have signed Caen goalkeeper Alexis Thebaux to fill the void left by Steeve Elana's departure to Lille.

The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year after a fee reported to be in excess of 1million euros (£790,000) was agreed.

Thebaux was with the Normandy club for five years prior to their relegation last season.

He becomes Brest's seventh summer signing, following defenders Ismael Traore and Bernard Mendy, midfielders Kamel Chafni, Geoffrey Dernis and Abdou Sissoko and forward Charlison Benschop.
