Hartlepool have had their appeal against Simon Walton's dismissal in Monday's win against Morecambe turned down by the FA.
Pools contested Newcastle referee Scott Duncan's decision to show Walton a straight red card early in the second half of their 2-1 home win for his challenge on Jordan Mustoe after watching video footage of the incident. But Pools' appeal has been rejected and Walton, sent off last month for two yellow-card offences at Oxford, must now serve a four-game ban. The former Leeds, Charlton and Plymouth midfielder will miss Pools' last two games of the season - at Plymouth on Saturday and at home against Exeter on the final day - plus the first two games of the 2014/15 campaign.
