Work ethic worry for Westley

Stevenage boss Graham Westley said his players had lost their "appetite" following a 3-1 home defeat to Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury's on-loan Bolton striker Tom Eaves got off the mark on his second debut for the club, with Adam Reach and Joe Jacobson also helping to overturn Francois Zoko's 24th-minute opener for the hosts. "It was a disappointing 90 minutes, not just the second half," said Westley, whose side dropped into the relegation zone. "They probably worked harder than us, they showed more quality in decisive areas than us and they earned the three points convincingly. "We'd won seven in 10 before Tuesday night because we'd found new levels physically, mentally, technically and tactically. "We'd started to do things to a much better level, but the last two games it's dropped and the appetite of the side hasn't been where it was. "It's not a concern for me, but it's something that I won't stand for, the lads know that. "When appetite isn't right you have to create and find new appetite and that's never been an issue for me. "The important thing is that you're better for any conversation you have. I'm not sure that ranting and raving is a particularly constructive way of improving." Zoko tapped in after 24 minutes, but Reach lifted over the on-rushing Chris Day 10 minutes later to equalise for the Shrews. Eaves then nodded in Paul Parry's cross seven minutes before the break and Jacobson sealed the win when he headed home after 51 minutes.
