Attacking threat pleases Smith

Stevenage manager Gary Smith feels his side are now looking more of a threat in attack.

Second-half goals from Lucas Akins and Marcus Haber saw Boro end a three-game losing run by beating Crewe 2-1 on Saturday. Smith was able to bring on Watford loanee Steve Beleck for his debut and has another loan signing, Sam Hoskins of Southampton, waiting in the wings. He said: "Lucas and Marcus played well up top and showed a good understanding together and I think the addition that we have been able to have of Steve Beleck coming on continued to have that effect and keep the pressure on. "It was a real difference to what we have had in the past and if we take the result away from it I am even more pleased about the performance of the group. "We looked far more assertive and certainly looked more of a threat and I think maybe a small portion of fortune, that we haven't been getting of late, was also with us."
