Barnard putting Cherries first

Bournemouth loanee Lee Barnard admits that whilst he is keen to get amongst the goals, he must put the team first.

Barnard, who joined from Southampton on the eve of the new season, has netted four times for the Cherries in 14 outings this season. And while the 28-year-old admits he has been "disappointed" with his own contribution, he is also aware that playing his part in the team's eight-game unbeaten run is just as important. "Personally, I am very frustrated at the moment. As a striker, I set my standards high and want to be scoring more goals," he told the Daily Echo. "But there are no two ways about it, winning is the most important thing and it is great that we are on an unbeaten run because it is all about the team. "When I don't score, I come off the pitch feeling a little disappointed but know I have got to set aside my own disappointment because it is all about the team. We want to keep striving to get up the table and it is all about promotion."
