Boro chief hopeful over Shroot

Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace is hopeful the League One club's dispute with Robin Shroot will be resolved soon.

Boro this week refused a request from the six-goal midfielder to go out on loan after he was left out of manager Gary Smith's last two squads. Shroot will be out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to commit himself to Stevenage. But Wallace said: "We make no secret that, as a club, we will always prefer players that are committed to our future over those that are not, and we believe that to be right and proper at the level we play at. "By his actions Robin has taken himself out of the manager's plans for the moment, but we are all hopeful that can be resolved and he can play a part in helping us achieve success "
