Stevenage manager Gary Smith was delighted for Greg Tansey who scored an absolute stunner in their 3-1 victory over Walsall.
Tansey scored his first goal since his summer move from Inverness with a 30-yarder as high-flying Boro claimed their first home win of the season.
Robin Shroot put the hosts ahead before George Bowerman levelled things up. Tansey restored the lead in spectacular fashion and then crossed for Lucas Akins to volley home the third.
Smith said: "Greg was disappointed on Saturday as he felt as though the goal should have stood and when someone takes a goal away from you it's never nice.
"He really does strike the ball well, he's a real hard-working lad and he was instrumental in our victory.
"I'm pleased we've got our first home win of the season after the disappointment of drawing the previous three games and not giving our fans the opportunity to enjoy a victory at home."
