Oumare Tounkara plans to discuss his future at Sunderland at the end of the season as he looks to make the most of a second loan spell at Oldham Athletic.
The striker returned to Boundary Park last week and appeared as a substitute against Bournemouth on Saturday to follow on from scoring seven goals in 46 games for the Latics last season.
He has yet to make a first-team appearance for Sunderland and was disappointed not to be involved after featuring for the Premier League club in pre-season.
The 21-year-old is happy to be back at Oldham and expects to hold talks with Black Cats manager Martin O'Neill in the summer.
Difficult
"I really enjoyed playing with the first team and learned a lot of things from playing with the fantastic players they have," Tounkara told Oldham's
official website.
"It has been difficult to get a chance when you have players like them around you. It was a good experience but disappointing I didn't get a chance after that.
"Oldham is a club which is in my head and also my heart as I have a good relationship with the manager, staff and players.
"At the moment I am thinking about what I am going to do. The most important thing is to play games, play well now and then when the season finishes I will have a chat with my agent and the manager and we will see what happens."
