Crawley midfielder Michael Doughty has underlined his ambition to earn a first-team spot in manager Steve Evans' team.

The 18-year-old, on loan with the Red Devils from Premier League club QPR, conceded that Evans does have a large squad to choose from but is hopeful of establishing a regular first-team place. Doughty told the Crawley News: "I've made seven appearances, six have been off the bench. "The next step is to get into the starting line-up and keep my place and be part of a winning team. "It's difficult to get into the tempo of the game straight away, for the first 10 minutes. "It's difficult to come on and be effective straight away and show what you are made of."
