Summer signing stepping up recovery after groin injury

Derby County manager Nigel Clough is weighing up when the right time will be to hand Nathan Tyson his debut for the club. Tyson joined the Rams from Nottingham Forest in the summer and impressed in pre-season before picking up a groin injury which has kept him out of Clough's plans to date. He is now stepping up his recovery and could come into Clough's thoughts for Saturday's Championship game away to Coventry City. "Nathan has started running this week, which is an encouraging sign," Clough told the club's official website. "We then have to decide if we risk including him in the squad if he hasn't had a training session or two under his belt. There will be a place for Nathan in the squad when he is fully fit; there is no doubt about that. "We have to make a decision on do we have a half-fit Nathan Tyson on the bench ahead of some of the lads who have been in the squad this season and played an important part." The Rams have also been boosted by the news that Conor Doyle, Russell Anderson and David Martin are all back in training after injury as they prepare for the game at the Ricoh Arena.
