Cherries defender joins Dons

AFC Wimbledon have signed left-back Jonathan Meades on a two-month loan deal from Bournemouth.

The 20-year-old is yet to feature for the Cherries since joining them on a free transfer in the summer, after being released by Cardiff. Dons boss Neal Ardley worked with Meades when he was Academy boss at the Welsh club. "A big plus is that he can play in a number of positions," Ardley told AFC Wimbledon's official website. "Though he is a left-back, he can also play in midfield, and that is why I wanted him ahead of other players. "Jonathan was in the same Under-16s team at Cardiff as Adam Matthews, who is now at Celtic, but a few niggling injuries stopped him getting into the first-team squad at Cardiff." Meades follows Brentford's Jake Reeves in making a loan switch to Kingsmeadow, with players in the squad for the League Two clash at Exeter on Tuesday night.
