Knill: We won't rush Collins

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill will not rush back midfielder Michael Collins from his long-term Achilles injury.

The 25-year-old Irishman has been sidelined since the end of August and although he has started to run again, Knill has sounded a note of caution. The Iron boss told the club's official website: "With an injury like his it's a case of giving it time. "We're fully aware that he could break down again if we try and rush him. So while we're optimistic, it's far too soon to set a date for his return." Meanwhile, midfielder Damien Mozika and defender Cliff Byrne have both suffered setbacks in their bid to shake off long-term injury. Mozika could be sidelined for up to another five weeks due to the knee injury that has restricted him to eight games for the Iron following his summer switch from Bury and Byrne, who made his first appearance in 11 months in the recent defeat at Notts County, has suffered a recurrence of his groin injury.
