Attack duo to boost Valiants

Striker Sean Rigg and midfielder Doug Loft could be fit for Port Vale's trip to Plymouth at the weekend.

Rigg and Loft are the club's top scorers with four goals apiece, but suffered hamstring and knee injuries respectively during the 3-2 home defeat by Southend 10 days ago. Both missed out as Vale lost by the same scoreline at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday but the duo are on course to bolster Micky Adams' side at rock-bottom Argyle. "Riggy trained on Monday and there's a possibility Lofty could come back into training on Thursday," assistant boss Mark Grew told the Sentinel. "If they are fit, then with the way they have been playing and scoring goals they will have to be in contention. "If we had won 4-0 at Wimbledon it would have been a nice selection problem, but I think those two will force our hands a little if they are fit. "Riggy looked sharp in training - the Wimbledon game probably came 24 hours too early for him."
