Defender leaves Posh on loan

Peterborough defender Adam Smith has agreed a deal to join Boston on a three-month loan. Smith recently finished a loan stint with King's Lynn as he attempts to build up his match fitness following a long-standing hip problem, and manager Darren Ferguson has now allowed the teenage full-back to link up with ex-Posh assistant Tommy Taylor at York Street. Smith, who made 10 appearances last season but has yet to figure this term, is expected to go straight into the Pilgrims side for their Blue Square North clash with Buxton on Saturday. Ferguson has also allowed winger Alfie Potter to join Grays Athletic on a month-long loan. "Alfie just needs to get more games under his belt," Ferguson said of the 18-year-old, who signed professional terms with Posh in June.
