Striker could make international comeback

Emmanuel Adebayor could be set to make a shock return to international football with Togo. The striker, who is on loan with Tottenham from Manchester City, quit in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Togo team bus during the African Cup of Nations last year. The 27-year-old saw three of his friends killed in the atrocity and has admitted that he was within inches of death himself. But the former Arsenal man is reported to be considering a U-turn which would see him back in action with the Hawks as they look to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Desire

Togo FA vice-president Herve Piza is quoted as saying in The Sun: "We hope and believe our efforts will come to fruition. "Adebayor expressed a desire to rejoin the team towards the end of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying campaign. "He eventually chose to stay back. But the World Cup is important to him."
