Italy continued their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign with another win, seeing off the Faroe Islands with a comprehensive 5-0 win.
The Islanders were never in the affair and found themselves completely overwhelmed from the outset as Alberto Gilardino netted before Daniele De Rossi doubled the lead.
Antonio Cassano put the Azzurri 3-0 ahead on 27 minutes as the minnows held out till the 80th minute before conceding again.
Fabio Quagliarella added the fourth as Andrea Pirlo rounded it off in the last minute.
In the group's other game, Slovenia's post-World Cup form continued to unravel as they could only draw in Serbia.
Slovenia suffered a shock loss to Northern Ireland in their first outing and ideally needed three points in Belgrade to recover in the battle for second spot.
They looked to be on course for the win they craved as Milivoje Novakovic put them in front just after the hour.
But Birmingham's Nikola Zigic popped up four minutes from time to earn his side a draw, giving Serbia four points with two games gone.
