Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is aiming to help Nigeria illuminate the 2014 World Cup after booking their ticket to Brazil.
The reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions eased past Ethiopia 4-1 on aggregate in their qualification play-off.
Attention can now switch to next summer and staking a claim to the grandest prize in world football.
There is a feeling that Nigeria will go well among the elite, with their squad packed with top level experience.
Ambrose is confident the Super Eagles can shine on the biggest stage of all, with there the promise of more to come from Stephen Keshi's side.
He said: "I am happy to be part of this history making.
"My target now is to help my country do well at the World Cup. We can shine in Brazil because I know we can play a lot better than what we have been doing.
"Here we have a talented group of players and I expect us to go a long way next year.
"We play Italy this week now and that should be the start of our build-up.
"It is important to treat games like these as vital because these are the kind of teams we will be facing next summer."
