John Obi Mikel insists he will continue playing for Nigeria following reports he did not want to play for his country.
The Chelsea holding midfielder asked to be left out of Nigeria's friendly against Mexico this week.
However Mikel, 26, says he will be available for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Namibia for the Africa Cup of Nations holders.
"I have always liked to play for my country, I will play the next two games and the Confederations Cup as well," Mikel declared.
A hip injury forced Mikel to miss the latter stages of the season for Chelsea, but nevertheless he was pleased that the Blues won more silverware when they secured the Europa League with a 2-1 win over Benfica.
"We finished strongly at Chelsea," he added. "To win two European trophies in two years is very good."
