Ghana-Nigeria off

A friendly between Ghana and Nigeria, scheduled to take place at Watford on Tuesday, has been postponed.

African friendly postponed because of riots

A friendly between Ghana and Nigeria, scheduled to take place at Watford on Tuesday, has been postponed. Following on from the cancellation of England versus Holland at Wembley due to the London riots, the friendly between the two African nations has also been postponed. The decision came on the back of advice from Hertfordshire Police ahead of the game at Vicarage Road. "Ghana's international fixture with Nigeria at Vicarage Road Stadium has been called off," a Ghana Football Association statement said. "Following the events in London, the Ghana Football Association delegation with the team were this afternoon informed of the decision by the match organisers. "The game has been called off following widespread unrest in certain parts of London and England."
