Beausejour, Jara, Vidal, Valdivia and Carmona sent home

Chile have thrown out five players from their squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers for indiscipline. Claudio Borghi confirmed that English-based duo Jean Beausejour and Gonzalo Jara, along with star names Jara Arturo Vidal, Jorge Valdivia and Carlos Carmona had left their training camp. Chile are due to face Uruguay and Paraguay in the next week in what are two crucial World Cup qualifiers. But now they have lost some of their top names, after they were sent home for bring drunk after attending the baptism of Valdivia's child. "I am in pain because one recognises what affect this has, we had an understanding built over a long time with the players in the good times and the bad," Borghi told La Tercera. "But there is a saying: 'The show must go on'. It was time to take a stand, besides that they are players that we need in the team and we will be giving a big advantage if we don't have them, but I had to say stop. "The players in question arrived 45 minutes late. I went to see them in their bedrooms and they were not in a good condition. "That puts them out of the squad for the moment because they were not in the condition that a professional football player or a member of the Chilean national team has to be in. "They did not put up an argument, they had no defence."
