McLeish hopes international break with allow winger to recover

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is hoping the international break will give injured Jean Beausejour the chance to recover from his knee problem. The Chile international missed Saturday's defeat to Everton after suffering a setback during the goalless stalemate with Wigan on 25th September. While McLeish has been advised not to rush the winger back, he is hopeful Beausejour, who has yet to start a Premier League game after his summer move from Club America, will be available for the trip to Arsenal on 16th October. The Blues boss said: "Beausejour had an injury which he further aggravated last week so he was ruled out completely for the weekend. "He got a nick in his medial ligament against Wigan when he came on. "The doctor ruled him out immediately and said 'if you want to get anything out of this guy this season, you've got to be careful.' I've got to respect the medical staff. "But hopefully the fact it is the international break will give him the chance to make a full recovery."
