Serbian striker may not be heading to Spain after deal hits hitch

Sky Sports understands Nikola Zigic's proposed move from Birmingham to Mallorca has stalled after the clubs could not agree terms. The former Valencia forward looked set to secure a move back to La Liga with Mallorca's director of football Llorenc Serra Ferrer telling AS that he was waiting to hear on the player's decision. But while the Serbia international has decided upon a move to the Balearic Islands, problems now appear to have emerged between the two clubs. Mallorca are demanding that Blues subsidise the difference in wages for the remaining two years of Zigic's contract with the Championship side. That has proved a stumbling block and the clubs have some way to go before reaching an amicable agreement for the player's transfer. Zigic has netted 22 goals in 79 appearances for Birmingham, memorably scoring the opener in their 2011 League Cup triumph over Arsenal.
