Boss wants to keep Kalala, Atkinson and Proudlock at Grimsby

Grimsby boss Mike Newell is hoping to keep loan signings Jean-Paul Kalala, Rob Atkinson and Adam Proudlock at the club during the January transfer window. The trio are on loan with the League Two strugglers from Oldham, Barnsley and Darlington respectively. Newell would like to keep all three at Blundell Park either by extending their loan deals or by making their signings permanent as he bids to avoid relegation from the league.

Decisions

He told the club's official website: "We are waiting on the clubs that they are associated with to make decisions. "We would like to keep them, maybe extend their loans or even make them permanent. "It's out of our hands until we know what Barnsley, Darlington and Oldham want to do."
