Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter wants his move to Borussia Dortmund wrapped up before Germany's opening World Cup game against Portugal on Sunday.

Ginter has yet to receive an actual offer from the Westphalians, who have made several enquiries to his club, but now he says he does not want to go into the World Cup without his future being resolved.

"It would be nice if we could resolve this issue now," Ginter told Sport Bild magazine.

"I would like that to happen before our first World Cup game.

"If I am going to move, then it will only be to Dortmund. There is no plan B.

"Dortmund enquired about me a year ago and now I've spent two years playing consistently well and if the same club keeps coming back, then of course it makes you think.

"I was always a Dortmund fan and the environment and fans there are great. It's therefore not difficult for me to say I want to play for Dortmund."

The 20-year-old only forced his way into the Germany reckoning over the past six months, earning a place in the squad for the World Cup in the process, and driving his value up.

A transfer fee appears to be the only stumbling block to a move, although Ginter says he can understand his current club's stance.

"I still have three years on my contract with them," he said. "They're not digging their feet in, they are just asking for a fair sum, and they have every right to."
