Bundesliga outfit Freiburg have revealed that Garra Dembele will not form part of their pre-season plans as he is to join Blackburn Rovers on trial.
The Mali international striker moved to Germany last summer after netting on a regular basis in Bulgaria for Levski Sofia.
He was seen as a replacement for Papiss Cisse, who eventually ended up joining Newcastle United in January.
Dembele struggled to settle, though, and found the target just once in 16 appearances.
He is under contract at Frieburg until 2015, but they are willing to part with his services.
Championship outfit Blackburn are prepared to offer him an opportunity to impress, with Steve Kean looking to piece together a side capable of securing promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Freiburg confirmed on their official website that Dembele is to link up with Rovers with a view to a permanent move.
