Ligue 1 outfit hoping Gunners starlet will return for second spell

Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff is hoping to bring Arsenal starlet Francis Coquelin back to the club. The 20-year-old midfielder returned to his native France last summer on a season-long agreement. A spell in Ligue 1 allowed him to take in regular first-team football, with 25 appearances made in total. He caught the eye throughout his time with Lorient, suggesting he has the ability to be a potential star of the future.

Gourcuff is among Coquelin's biggest supporters and has admitted that he is in talks with Arsenal regarding a second loan deal. "We have already brought in Pedrinho, and Mathieu Coutadeur will serve us well in midfield, all that is left is to try and settle the case of Francis Coquelin," he told Hake Ouest-France. "He would love to come but it depends on the choice of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. "We are not in a hurry and we are prepared to be patient with this."
