Freiburg striker Stefan Reisinger has signed a two-year contract extension at Badenova-Stadion.

Talks ongoing with captain Butscher regarding an extension

Freiburg forward Stefan Reisinger has signed a two-year contract extension, while captain Heiko Butscher hopes to agree a new deal. Reisinger was set to be out of contract in the summer, but he is now tied to Badenova-Stadion until the summer of 2012. Freiburg general manager Dirk Dufner is pleased the 29-year-old has committed to the club as they aim to remain in the top six of the Bundesliga. Dufner told his club's official website: "Stefan Reisinger is an experienced player and is fully committed to our club. "He has been able to add important goals to our success in the Bundesliga this season. We are glad he has decided to sign a new contract and remain part of our first-team."

Optimistic

Talks are ongoing with Butscher, who will be a free agent at the end of the campaign and recently turned down a new offer from Freiburg, but the skipper is optimistic. The club's manager, Robin Dutt, told Kicker: "We have recently signed a couple of new deals with important players of our first team. "It is just an agreement with Heiko Butscher that is still missing at this moment." Butscher said: "I turned down an offer last week. We then had a new chat on terms and we have edged closer to an agreement. "I still feel we can agree a new deal. I am very well aware of what I owe the club. This is why I am planning to come the club's way."
