Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reckons Saturday's game against Northampton will be a big test of character for his players.

Hasselbaink, whose team are already assured of promotion, hopes his men do not take their foot off the pedal now they are guaranteed League One football next season. Albion could clinch the League Two title with victory in their final home match of the season. The Staffordshire club will be crowned champions if they win and second-placed Shrewsbury do not take all three points at relegation-threatened Cheltenham. The Dutchman told local reporters: "It's going to be a test of our characters. "Now I'm going to find out a bit more about my players. What kind of personality they are and what they have. "Sometimes it's very easy to back off, especially when you've got something you wanted. It's going to be interesting, our character. "We had a chat, a small chat, on Monday as we always do on the training pitch. They are focused and want it as well, but still you have to do it. "On Monday the training wasn't as good as normal because it is normal, so luckily we got that out of the way. Since then training has been good. "We will keep on preparing for Saturday in the right way and make sure we are right and are competitive. "We have to show the football we've been showing for the last few weeks. "Let's try to win the first one at home and then we worry about the other one. Northampton is the most important. If we can make sure we're all right and with the help of all the supporters hopefully we can get the right result."
