Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has reached an agreement with Burton Albion for him to become the club's new manager, Sky sources understand.
It is understood that the Dutchman had a second interview with the Sky Bet League Two club on Monday night, and has now agreed to take charge.
Burton are also currently talking to MK Dons about the possibility of their Academy Director, David Oldfield, joining Hasselbaink at the Pirelli Stadium as his assistant.
Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink, 42, who was Steve McClaren’s assistant at Nottingham Forest, is expected to formally sign a contract with Burton on Thursday, when he will also take training for the first time.
His first game as manager will then be an away fixture at Wycombe Wanderers on Monday night - a game you can see live on Sky Sports.
Hasselbaink was in charge at Royal Antwerp until May of this year and turned down the offer of a new contract with the Belgian club.
Albion have been looking for a new manager after Gary Rowett left to take charge of Birmingham City.
Head of youth Mike Whitlow has been in caretaker charge of Burton, who currently lie fifth in the League Two table after 16 matches.
