Crewe Alexandra have signed goalkeeper Scott Shearer on a two-year deal following his release from Rotherham.
The experienced stopper was released by the Championship newcomers after making 14 appearances last season before losing his place during the second half of the campaign. Over the course of his career, Shearer has made 341 appearances and will provide cover and competition for current Alex keeper Ben Garratt. The signing is the second of the day for Crewe, after they announced the acquisition of winger John Johnston on a six-month deal.
