Evans reveals interest in trio

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has revealed there has been plenty of interest in Ian Sharps, Lionel Ainsworth and Kayode Odejayi.

The transfer-listed trio, all signed by Evans last summer, were told they were free to find new clubs at the end of last season, along with defender Nicky Hunt, who agreed to a release on Thursday. Sharps spent the end of last term on loan at Burton, Ainsworth was farmed out to Aldershot and Odejayi made just 17 starts as the Millers won promotion to League One. "We have three players that need to find new clubs if they want to play football," Evans told the club's official website. "My squad will be strengthened in every area but particularly in wide areas and in the striker department. "In fairness to the three lads we have placed on the transfer list there has been good interest in each of them and I would think their respective agents are talking to those clubs now. "What they decide to do is up to them but it will have no bearing at all on what players we bring to the Millers."
