Hometown glory drives Alex ace

Image: Bell: Keen to live his dream

Crewe midfielder Lee Bell says it would be a dream to represent his hometown club in the League Two play-off final.

The 29-year-old is in contention to start against Cheltenham at Wembley after successfully deputising for the injured Luke Murphy in the semi-final second-leg draw at Southend last Wednesday. Murphy is fighting to recover from a tight hamstring in time for the game and even if he does regain fitness, Bell hopes he did enough at Roots Hall to retain his place. He told the club's official website: "It will be a dream to play at Wembley if I am needed and to do it with my hometown team is unbelievable for me. "It was brilliant to be back in the team at Southend and help the club reach the final, and now the decision is down to the gaffer. "We have been fantastic and everyone has the belief that we are going to Wembley to finish the job off. What has been achieved so far has to be forgotten about."
