Bell banking on Alex home wins

Lee Bell is targeting back-to-back wins this week to keep Crewe Alexandra's League Two play-off hopes alive.

Alex's impressive new year form has dipped slightly of late, with defeats at Barnet and Southend sandwiching last midweek's dramatic win over Burton, to leave Steve Davis' side five points shy of the top seven. However, midfielder Bell - who recently returned from hernia surgery - believes consecutive home games with Accrington on Tuesday and AFC Wimbledon at the weekend could be the perfect remedy to the Railwaymen's recent travels woes. "It's a big week for us with two games at home," said Bell in The Sentinel. "Six points would be brilliant, although I am sure we are going to pick up points people don't expect us to and also drop points they'd think we'd get. "It's a case of getting some consistency and winning more games than we draw over the next 16 games."
