Bradford City winger Kyel Reid is pleased he will be able to return to action this season after being ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Reid suffered the injury during the Boxing Day win over Crewe Alexandra and has joined Simon Ramsden and Michael Flynn on the sidelines at Valley Parade.
The former Charlton wide-man has already started his rehabilitation programme, but is disappointed he will miss out on Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie at Watford.
"I tore my hamstring against Crewe on Boxing Day and the physio says that I'm looking at between four to six weeks before I'm back, so it is quite a bad one," Reid told
Sky Sports.
Feeling good
"I'm feeling good already though having just started my rehab, with a bit of bike work and on the treadmill to strengthen up the hamstring. Hopefully, that will help me get back into training in the next couple of weeks.
"It wasn't the best time to do it because I was really enjoying my football, but hopefully I can come back stronger and pick up where I left off.
"There are a few big games coming up which I really wanted to play in, such as this weekend's FA Cup game, so it is disappointing, but it could have been a lot worse.
"I'm just happy to be able to get back playing again before the season's over because hamstring injuries can keep you out for a lot longer.
"It is a grade two tear and it is important with these types of injuries not to rush back because you have to let it heal properly and then do all the strengthening work to build up the hamstring again."
The Bantams' four-game unbeaten run came to an end on Monday, as Rotherham secured a 3-0 win thanks to three crucial errors from keeper Jon McLaughlin and Reid has backed the Scotsman to bounce back from his personal nightmare.
He added: "Everyone has a bad game now and again, but I'm sure that he will bounce back from it because he is a strong character in the dressing room.
"He has been great in recent weeks and has made some outstanding saves this season, including his penalty heroics in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, so no one will be pointing the finger at him."
