Fulham face fight to land trialist

Skysports.com understands a host of clubs are chasing highly-rated Mansfield defender Tom Naylor. Naylor is currently undergoing a trial at Fulham having recently enjoyed a stint at Championship side Derby. Mansfield have rejected two bids from two League One clubs for the 20-year-old with one of the offers coming from Bournemouth. Naylor played a full 90 minutes in Fulham's reserves' 2-1 defeat away to Manchester United earlier this week and he is again expected to feature in a behind-closed-doors game against Crystal Palace on Thursday. It is believed that no fewer than a dozen clubs, including three from the Premier League and five from the Championship, have enquired about Naylor's services over the last six weeks. Naylor's agent, Jermaine Blackwood, admits there is huge interest in the central defender and that he has impressed during his time at Fulham. "Tom has caught the attention from numerous clubs this year and is taking everything in his stride," Blackwood told skysports.com. "In the games he's played for both Derby County and Fulham he put in a good account of himself and didn't look out of place, if you didn't know him you wouldn't have thought he was currently plying his trade in the Conference Premier. "Obviously it's still early days and there's still a long way to go. "He will continue to be monitored for the remainder of the week and then we will take things from there."
