Derby County have signed goalkeeper Adam Legzdins from Burton Albion on a three-year deal.

Clough delighted with goalkeeper capture

Derby County have signed goalkeeper Adam Legzdins from Burton Albion on a three-year deal. The 24-year-old, who cost the Rams an undisclosed fee, is the second keeper to join the club this summer, following hot on the heels of England U21 international Frank Fielding. Legzdins played in all 46 games for Burton last season, earning rave reviews and being named player of the year by their fans and the rest of the squad. Derby boss Nigel Clough was delighted to lure the custodian to Pride Park. "We highlighted the importance of having a good No.2 to back Frank up some time ago and we feel that Adam fits the bill for us," said Clough. "We want Ross Atkins to go out on loan again this season and get some experience and Saul Deeney won't be back from his shoulder injury until later in the year, so bringing another goalkeeper in has been a priority. "Adam is at a good age as well and we feel he is a goalkeeper who will improve all the time and challenge Frank for his place."
