Defender Patrick Ada could remain at Crewe Alexandra after an injury to skipper Mat Mitchel-King.
Caretaker manager Dario Gradi said earlier this month he was willing to let Ada go out on loan.
But Gradi may now have to keep the 25-year-old at Gresty Road as defensive cover after Mitchel-King injured ankle ligaments in Saturday's 3-0 win over Darlington.
"We've got Carl Martin and Harry Davis, but Patrick would be ahead of those two," said the Alex boss.
"We haven't got anybody that wants to take him at the moment, so I'll make that decision if I have to."
Martin and Davis are yet to make a league start and Ada has made 16 starts for Alex since signing from Histon last summer.
However, the Cameroon-born player's last appearance came in the FA Cup first-round defeat against York on 7th November.
