Jackson moves on to other targets after losing patience with striker

Lincoln City boss Peter Jackson has shelved plans to sign Peterborough United striker Rene Howe. Jackson had declared an interest in Howe, who impressed on loan at Morecambe last season and has been placed on the transfer list by Peterborough. He has been the subject of a £150,000 bid from an unnamed club, which has been accepted by Posh, and is weighing up his options. However, Jackson has now ended his interest after deciding to look at alternative targets following Howe's decision to try to secure a move to a team in League One. "Rene wants a move to a League One club but, as no-one from that level has come in for him, he is still thinking things over," said Jackson. "We showed interest, but he wanted a bit longer. "We can't wait forever. We are in a situation where we need to move on and look to bring other people in."
