Murray Davidson and Chris Kane have signed contract extensions with St Johnstone.

Midfielder Davidson has committed for the next two years while striker Kane is now contracted to the Scottish Premiership club until the summer of 2018.

Davidson is back playing regularly after eight months out last year with a knee injury, and 20-year-old Kane has recently broken into the first team after a loan spell at Dumbarton.

Saints manager Tommy Wright told the club website: "It’s great news for everyone at the club and for the players themselves.

"Murray has worked very hard to get himself back into the team after his serious injury and Chris is one of our most promising youngsters so to have them commit themselves to Saints for the foreseeable future is a great bonus."
