Midfielder to undergo medical ahead of signing two-year deal

Danny Swanson's agent has confirmed the Dundee United midfielder has plumped for a move to Peterborough United and is expected to sign a two-year deal. The 25-year-old is out of contract at Tannadice and had expressed an interest in playing in England after being linked with the Terrors' SPL rivals Hibernian. Brighton & Hove Albion and MK Dons are understood to have shown an interest in Swanson, but Peterborough have won the race for his signature. Swanson held talks over a move to London Road last month and he is due to undergo a medical before finalising his switch to the Championship club. His representative, John Viola, told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Danny will travel to Peterborough this midweek to have his medical. If there are no problems he will sign a two-year contract with Peterborough. "Peterborough will have themselves a fine player. He could have signed for several other clubs, but he liked what Peterborough had to say and they have said they will play him in an attacking midfield role which is what he wants."
