Johnson could axe MacLean

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson could axe Steve MacLean following the striker's curious goal celebration at Bury on Saturday.

MacLean, who has barely featured since Johnson returned to Huish Park a fortnight ago, appeared to follow his late consolation strike at Gigg Lane with an apparently offensive gesticulation which looked to be aimed at the Glovers dug-out. Johnson did not see the incident but told the Western Daily Press: "Players are going to be frustrated, of course they are, and when players who have been out of the team score, sometimes they are a bit frustrated with the situation. "But if it was directed at me or the bench, then of course that will be the last game he plays. I will have a chat with him because you cannot do that. You have got to be pleased for the lads and pleased the manager has brought you on, because in the first game or two I saw there was not enough athleticism or movement in his game. "I am not talking out of (turn), I will be telling him that and I have told him that. If it has earned the goal then great, but if he does not think that it is me that has helped him then he is best moving on."
