The 23-year-old midfielder has been capped at Under-21 level for Scotland and was on the bench for their recently friendly against Brazil. And the speculation surrounding his future has come as no surprise to McInnes.

Interest

"There has been no contact from any club," he told the Daily Record. "But do I expect interest to firm up in Murray? The answer would have to be yes." Meanwhile, McInnnes has wasted no time in signing out-of-contract David Robertson from rivals Dundee United. The 24-year-old has agreed a new two-year deal after turning down a more lucrative offer to extend his stay at Tannadice.
