Skysports.com understands Falkirk are ready to raid SPL rivals Aberdeen for the soon-to-be out-of-contract Gary McDonald.
Dons boss Mark McGhee is likely to want to keep McDonald at Pittodrie but as yet has failed to agree fresh terms with the midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
McDonald moved back to Scotland in 2008 after a couple of seasons in England with Oldham and has established himself as a regular in McGhee's first XI.
McGhee has previously said he will be patient in contract negotiations and is even willing to wait until the summer, as players look to leave their options open as long as possible.
