I've finally managed to calm down now after Saturday, just about. Yet again we managed to play well enough to win a game two times over but have failed to do so because of our poor defending of late.

Whenever I tell people that we are averaging around 25 shots every home game they find it unbelievable; I'm more amazed that we only seem to be capable of scoring just one of these chances.

Vulnerable

All game we looked vulnerable from set pieces and counter-attacks and it proved to be our downfall as Leicester raced away to put away two vital goals that were much too easy considering our position in the league.

Truth be told we've been going through a wobble since the end of November when we failed to finish off Preston. Ever since that game we've squandered more goal scoring opportunities than John Terry's had second chances!

I'm hoping beyond all hope that next Saturday will see things change back for the better with our seemingly customary Dumpdale win.

However, if we've been struggling to score recently then we have some major problems ahead of us with the suspension of Charlie Adam. Player of the Month, current top scorer and last season's Dumpdale hero means he'll be sorely missed for the next two weeks.

A replacement for his goals may not be too far away in the form of Stephen Dobbie. Both against West Brom and Leicester he was our most potent goal threat and hopefully he'll be able to keep up that form until the end of the season. He's scored two great goals in two games and is looking a very welcome addition to the squad. Then again, so did Liam Dickinson...

Hopefully he can keep it up and somebody else can help him carry the load. Maybe someone like DJ can do the job? His return on Tuesday was a breath of fresh air (again) and I can't wait to see Blackpool's number nine (teen!) hit the back of the net again.
