...Before Kevin Mirallas leveled proceedings when he beat Steven Gerrard to the ball

A frantic Merseyside derby, Wayne Rooney's tackle and the Manchester clubs' fortunes are all discussed.

Sky Sports News Radio presenter Ben Ransom hosts this week's Football Podcast and is joined in the studio by TEAMtalk.com's Pete Hall and SkySports.com's Jon Holmes as they look back on the big talking points from this weekend's games in the Premier League. GOALS GALORE AT GOODISON! Pete expresses his surprise at how open Saturday's early kick-off was, with Everton and Liverpool both looking vulnerable. Jon reserves special praise for the attacking impetus Roberto Martinez has brought to Everton, while Ben insists Liverpool should still be pleased with their league position. ROONEY FORTUNATE TO STAY ON PITCH? The studio clash in their opinion over whether Wayne Rooney's tackle warranted harsher punishment. Jon is adamant that the England striker should have been given his marching orders, whilst Pete is less sure, insisting a yellow card was sufficient punishment. UNITED SUFFER LATE HEARTACHE! Ben revels in Manchester United fan Pete's misery after United conceded a late equaliser at Cardiff. Pete feels that the Red Devil's side is not good enough at the moment, but Jon reminds the others that the Bluebirds deserve credit for earning a point against the champions. The trio also talk up Fraizer Campbell's England chances after impressing on Sunday. SUPER CITY! The panel waxes lyrical about the impressive performance from Manchester City over a woeful Tottenham side. Pete hails Yaya Toure as the best player in the Premier League, Ben questions whether Sergio Aguero can keep up his performance levels and Jon wonders whether Alvaro Negredo would have been a better option for Tottenham than Roberto Soldado.
