Player of the Weekend

Steven Caulker What a great week for the Cardiff defender. He was recalled to the England squad by Roy Hodgson, and then he played a starring role in Cardiff's much-needed win over Fulham, grabbing a brace in the process. Caulker opened the scoring just before half-time with a neat finish inside the six-yard box and then he restored their lead just after the hour mark with a header which sneaked under Fulham keeper Maarten Stekelenburg. He defended well throughout which saw him named our Player of the Weekend.

Game of the Weekend

Chelsea 4 Tottenham 0 Always looked the most intriguing affair this weekend, and Chelsea did indeed move seven points clear at the top of the table. Even from the pre-match warm-up, which saw Fernando Torres injured, you could not take your eyes off this one. A goalless, tight first half was quite predictable but not many people saw what was to come. On 56 minutes, Jan Vertonghen's attempted pass back allowed in Samuel Eto'o to finish neatly. The second arrived just moments later as Eden Hazard countered and crossed for Eto'o - who went down under the challenge of Younes Kaboul. Red card was given to the Frenchman and Hazard slotted home the penalty. Then, in the dying minutes, Spurs capitulated as they allowed substitute Demba Ba in to score twice in two minutes.

Goal of the Weekend

Danny Welbeck A very neat goal from United which was the pick of the weekend's action. Lovely build-up play saw the ball come for Wayne Rooney whose pass was collected by Danny Welbeck - who had drifted off Jonas Olsson - and he lifted the ball past Ben Foster to round off a comfortable win.

Save of the Weekend

David Marshall The Scottish goalkeeper was again on top form for Cardiff. Marshall came to his side's rescue with a last-ditch two-handed save to deny a terrific volley from Fulham's record signing Kostas Mitroglou.

Pass of the Weekend

John Terry Wonderful ball from the Chelsea captain to help set up the second goal. He picked out Eden Hazard's run down the left with a wonderful long ball, which was taken down by the Belgian, who crossed into the box for Eto'o and he won a penalty off Kaboul.

Gaffe of the Weekend

Jan Vertonghen Miserable day for the Belgian defender as his error at Stamford Bridge really did turn the game on its head. At 0-0, Vertonghen slipped and then panicked as he looked to hack the ball back to Hugo Lloris, but he only presented the ball to Eto'o who finished clinically.

Controversy of the Weekend

Penalty and red card on Kaboul Whilst the first goal, and the two after, were very much defensive errors, the second goal at Chelsea was harsh on Tottenham. Kaboul barely seemed to challenge Eto'o as he went down in the box. Referee Michael Oliver was convinced and he awarded a penalty and showed a red card to the Spurs defender.

Celebration of the Weekend

Samuel Eto'o And finally a wonderful moment from Eto'o as he celebrated Chelsea's opening goal. Eto'o responded to allegations about his age, raised by his own boss Jose Mourinho, by pretending to walk like a pensioner by the corner flag.
