VINCENT KOMPANY v MARIO GOMEZ
City captain Kompany has formed a solid partnership with Joleon Lescott this season, even though City have not kept as many clean sheets as manager Roberto Mancini would like. Gomez, if he has fully recovered from flu, will pose a stern test having scored six goals already in the group stages.
YAYA TOURE v THOMAS MULLER
Guessing Mancini's line-ups is always a difficult task but dynamic midfielder Toure is always one of the first names on the teamsheet. Germany international Muller can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a second striker and will pose a threat to the City midfield.
MARIO BALOTELLI v JEROME BOATENG
A battle most supporters would like to see after the pair traded blows during a training session while team-mates last year. The pair have long settled their differences but Balotelli, in form with 10 goals this season, would like to get one over the defender.
