It is difficult to pick the best out of such an array of memorable solo efforts after the former Tottenham Hotspur star produced an array of stunning runs and strikes in his career to date.
However, we have picked our favourites and you can have your say and let us known if we have forgotten any famous moments.
Versus Inter Milan, Champions League - 20/10/2010
In a UEFA Champions League group stage game, Bale truly announced himself as a world-class star. Tottenham were four goals down at half-time in Italy and were reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes had been sent off. Defending European champions Inter were cruising but then Bale, who had already given Inter right-back Maicon a rough first half, truly took over after the interval. Flying down the left wing, he scored a stunning hat-trick to take Tottenham agonisingly close to a remarkable comeback.
But which goal was the best of the bunch? It is difficult to look past Bale's first at the Giuseppe Meazza. In the 52nd minute, he turned on the afterburners to speed past Javier Zanetti. Then, having burst into the penalty area and under pressure from Walter Samuel, he released a missiled, low finish across the face of goal and into Julio Cesar's bottom corner. Breathtaking.
Harry Redknapp, Tottenham's manager at the time, said after the game: "He plays left-back, wide left, he scores goals and runs all day. Even in the first-half he gave the right-back (Maicon), who is one of the best in the world, a torrid time."
Versus West Ham United, Premier League - 25/2/2013
This stunning, last-gasp strike came in the middle of Bale's mesmerising run of winter form last season, when he scored 11 goals in nine games in all competitions for club and country. He had already put Tottenham ahead against London derby rivals West Ham at Upon Park but an Andy Carroll penalty and Joe Cole then gave the home side the lead. Gylfi Sigurdsson later equalised and the game seemed to be heading for a draw as it entered the closing seconds.
But Bale had other ideas. His first strike, a powerful left-footer past Jussi Jaaskelainen, had been far from shabby. However, his winner was a showstopper. Collecting a pass from team-mate Tom Carroll, there appeared little danger when he collected the ball around 35 yards from goal. With Bale, though, there is always a threat and, offered space, he was able to generate incredible power with a whip and fantastic follow through from his left foot to send his shot flashing past Jaaskelainen.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce said after the final whistle: "Whether you don't like Tottenham or you do, you've got to admire a goal like that. At the moment, there's nobody doing more for a football club than Gareth Bale for Tottenham."
Versus Stoke City, Premier League - 21/8/2010
In a masterclass of technique, Bale gave Tottenham victory over Stoke in this encounter at the Britannia Stadium. The Welsh wizard had already opened the scoring with a scrappy effort but Ricardo Fuller equalised less than 10 minutes later. Spurs, though, took the points when Bale hit what proved to be a wonder-goal winner on the half-hour mark.
At the time aged just 21, Bale struck an stunning volley which offered a glimpse of what he was going to produce in the years to come. Aaron Lennon chipped a cross from the right of the penalty area, although it seemed to be too high. However, Bale put on the brakes, watched the ball all the way and allowed it to cross his body before opening up to smash a wonderful volley back arching back into the far top corner of the goal.
Redknapp said: "I cannot think of a better left-sided player. That left foot of his is amazing. He can run all day and he can head it. He is 6ft 2in. That volley showed unbelievable technique. He has got everything."
Versus Scotland, World Cup qualifier - 12/10/2012
Bale demonstrated he was capable of brilliance whether playing for club or country when deciding this game in Cardiff in spectacular fashion. James Morrison's first-half goal had looked set to win the game for Home Nation rivals Scotland but Bale equalised from an 81st minute penalty having himself been fouled to earn the spot-kick.
Wales were then in dreamland with 60 seconds left on the clock when Bale picked up the ball and carried it to within 25 yards of goal. From there, he unleashed another trademark powerful, dipping and swerving effort which rocketed past Allan McGregor to win the game.
Wales manager Chris Coleman said of Bale: "He keeps on producing swashbuckling performances and doing things that not many other players are capable of doing. He is a special player, we all know that."
Versus Norwich City, Premier League - 30/1/2013
Another mesmerising solo effort saw Bale rescue a point for Tottenham in their 1-1 draw at Norwich City last season. Wes Hoolahan had given the hosts the lead at Carrow Road but, 10 minutes from time, Spurs earned a draw in incredible fashion.
Collecting the ball inside his own half, Bale built up to his lightning speed to blitz past the Norwich midfield. He then cut inside no the edge of the penalty area to work the ball onto his deadly left foot. From inside the box, he unleashed an arching shot with the outside of his boot to superbly curl the ball away from Norwich goalkeeper Mark Bunn. Pace, power, precision - this goal had epitomised Bale's game.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas said: "He got lucky [in the build-up to his goal] that Alexander Tettey did not break his ankle when he was running to score, I think it was a yellow card or probably a red card to give. But, moving on, it was a great goal, with such pace and power.
