Former Liverpool and Fulham star Danny Murphy picks One2Eleven on Fantasy Football Club

Murphy: picked his One2Eleven on Fantasy Football Club

Danny Murphy has played with a host of top footballers during a career that has included spells at Liverpool, Tottenham and Fulham.

But who does the midfielder, now at Championship outfit Blackburn, rank as the best players he has been in a team with?

The 35-year-old answered that question on Fantasy Football Club when he picked his One2Eleven, so read below to see which men he selected...

Goalkeeper - Mark Schwarzer

DANNY SAYS: "Schwarzer is an unbelievable pro; he is first in for training in the morning and he's got a body for Baywatch. I'd say he has a face for Crimewatch but he's actually not a bad looking lad either! Over the last 10 years in the Premier League, he has been in the top three 'keepers consistency-wise."

Right-back - Jamie Carragher

DANNY SAYS: "This might be a strange one but when we won the Treble at Liverpool, Jamie played behind me at full-back and part of the reason for my success was him constantly talking to me and always being on my case. He is a true leader."

Centre-back - Sami Hyypia

DANNY SAYS: "It was hard to get a smile out of 'Mr Serious' at the best of times, but what an unbelievable footballer he was. He came to Liverpool a bit unknown but he was two-footed, brilliant in the air, a great reader of the game and he chipped in with goals, too."

Centre-back - Ledley King

DANNY SAYS: "Ledley when he was at his fittest was, for me, one of the best centre-backs in Europe; he was quick, strong and calm, and the Tottenham fans will tell you how good a defender he was."

Left-back - Benoit Assou-Ekotto

DANNY SAYS: "I was only with Benoit at Tottenham for 18 months but he wowed me; he is a terrific footballer, quick, strong and athletic and his all-round ability gets him in my team."

Holding midfield- Dietmar Hamann

DANNY SAYS: "Didi is at the base of the diamond because for that three or four year period when Liverpool were flying high he was so important to us and one of the best in Europe in his position."

Central midfield - Gary McAllister

DANNY SAYS: "McAllister made such an impact when he came to Liverpool at the age of 35, both on and off the pitch. He had little words of wisdom and moments where he helped you out and was always in the right place at the right time."

Central midfield - Moussa Dembele

DANNY SAYS: "Over years of playing at the top level, I can't think of many players who have Moussa's ability to glide past people and keep the ball so well in tight positions. He is always asking questions, too, and wanting to learn and I think he is going to get better and better because of that."

Attacking midfield - Steven Gerrard

DANNY SAYS: "Stevie was the easy choice to pick for the tip of the diamond; he has an ability to win games on his own and drive his team forward. He was never that bothered about tactics or who he was playing against - it could have been Patrick Vieira, it could have been Roy Keane - and anyone who has played with him would have him in their best XI."

Striker - Robbie Fowler

DANNY SAYS: "Robbie is what you would call a natural goalscorer; he just had that raw ability to go on the pitch and find the back of the net. I also liked it that he played with such a smile on his face and with such freedom. They called him God for a reason."

Striker - Michael Owen

DANNY SAYS: "When Michael burst onto the scene at Liverpool he was nearly unplayable; he was scoring goals and was one of the best strikers in Europe. He was a man for the big occasion, too, and when you needed a goal he got one."
