Former Manchester United and Aston Villa defender Paul McGrath told Goals on Sunday that he believes United will win the league despite being one of Sir Alex Ferguson's "worst teams".
McGrath joined Ben and Kammy on the Goals on Sunday sofas and discussed United's title prospects as well as his career at United and Aston Villa and the defensive frailties of Alex McLeish's current Villa side.
United are favourites to win the Premier League title again - a feat that would be testament to Ferguson's "genius" rather than the quality of the current United crop, according to McGrath.
"I think this is one of the worst teams, if I am honest, that Sir Alex has produced but yet they are still going to win the league and that is the measure of the man," McGrath told Goals on Sunday.
"He has not got the great flair players that he's had in the past, he hasn't yet obviously, but I still think he is going to in the league. The man is a genius."
After playing more than 150 games for United, McGrath was ushered out of Old Trafford by Ferguson following a number of injury problems and off-field issues.
And McGrath believes Ferguson would be decisive in dealing with some of the issues that have affected their title rivals Manchester City.
When asked what Sir Alex would do with City striker Mario Balotelli, McGrath said: "Sell him.
"I don't think that he would fit in with Sir Alex. No matter who you are, if there is any misdemeanour you are out of there. He doesn't mess around no matter who the player is."
